Czech and Moravian Wineries Shine at MUNDUS VINI 2023
At the prestigious MUNDUS VINI Grand International Wine Award, Czech and Moravian wineries collectively won 26 gold medals and 14 silver medals. B\V Winery dominated the competition, securing 20 gold medals, 8 silver medals, and the title of "Best Producer in the Czech Republic".
The 33rd edition of MUNDUS VINI took place in Neustadt an der Weinstraße, gathering 140 international wine experts to evaluate wines from 36 countries. A total of 1,676 wines from around the world received awards. To earn a gold medal, a wine had to score at least 90 out of 100 points.
One of the standout winners was Chardonnay Reserva 2018, which had already achieved one of the top awards at Le Mondial des Vins Blancs Strasbourg in France, where it was named the best dry wine of the competition. This remarkable Chardonnay comes from 45-year-old vineyards in Ratíškovice, boasting a golden hue, delicate fruit aromas of yellow-fleshed peaches, and tropical undertones. Its rich, well-balanced palate is enhanced by fresh acidity and a long, complex finish, thanks to 12 months of aging on fine lees in large French oak barrels. This elegant, full-bodied wine is perfect for aging in the bottle.
